Our Story

A little piece of home.

From Kenya, through family, to the Shamba — and the small-batch care that became SHAMBA.

Sunset over a Kenyan landscape with acacia trees and homesteads

Kenya

SHAMBA is rooted in Kenya — in land, plants, and home rituals, not in a slogan. The products are handcrafted there, in small batches, with ingredients that have long been part of Kenyan care: shea, baobab, marula, beeswax.

Family

Eva's family is behind the brand. This is not a fiction written for a label. It is their home, their plants, and a way of looking after skin that was already in the house before it had a name on a jar.

The Shamba

Shamba means “farm” in Swahili. Eva's family uses the word for home — the land, the trees, and the daily work of care. Growing up, days were spent among fertile soil, ancient trees, and the wisdom of generations. It is more than a place. It is a way of life.

Inspiration

Mothers and grandmothers cared for skin with simple, honest ingredients. That ritual is the heart of the brand: unhurried, modest, meant for everyday use rather than spectacle.

SHAMBA

We make two products. THAAYU takes its name from Kikuyu for peace. WENDO means love. The names are a quiet instruction: nourish the skin, and keep a little of home close.

When you choose SHAMBA, you are supporting a small family business, local craft, and the traditions that have cared for generations. Asante sana.
